Sometimes you meet a person and you just know! That’s the case with Kina, I met her and thought “wow, what a wonderful young lady; I would love to have a coach like her on the team.” And then it happened! Kina joined the Iron & Grit team and will be one of our Head Coaches.
Coach Kina will also be developing a Wellness Program with our dietician Donna Pertel. The program is a more comprehensive Beginners Program and will add to the support we provide to our newest athletes. Look for details later this summer.
Favorite Lift: It changes every once in a while, actually! Haha! It used to be the deadlift but right now I’d say it’s the snatch.
Favorite Benchmark WOD: MURPH
Life changing experience, if any: Getting into fitness was a life changing experience for me. At first I did it to lose weight then I realized how good it made me feel. It’s like a medicine. I need it regularly to stay healthy mentally and physically. Ultimately, I love the discipline of CrossFit and enjoy all kinds of fitness.
What do you envision for your future as an athlete, as a coach? I can only hope to get better at my craft and help make better athletes. I hope to make strides in my own training as well. Better, faster, stronger.
